Toowoomba - Makers, Creators & Community

Toowoomba - Makers, Creators & Community

Craft Alive Toowoomba 2026 was such a wonderful event, and it’s always such a joy to get out on the road and meet so many incredible makers and customers along the way.

One of the most special parts of these shows is reconnecting with the amazing small businesses that share the same passion for creativity, sewing, and handmade craft. There’s something truly lovely about being surrounded by people who care about keeping these skills alive and thriving.

This year in Toowoomba we met people who had travelled from far and wide. Some came from nearby towns like Miles and Gatton, while others made the trip from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. We even met visitors who had travelled from further out past Dalby, Roma and beyond. It was so lovely to see so many people making the journey to spend a weekend celebrating creativity together.

A big highlight was the beautiful display by the Toowoomba Quilters. Their quilts were absolutely stunning, and they also hosted a lovely quilt raffle. Groups like this do so much to support the local sewing community, and when these shows come to town it’s always worth taking the time to stop in, admire the work, and support the makers behind it.

Events like Craft Alive are about more than just shopping — they’re about connection to community. They’re a chance to meet local makers, learn new skills, and connect with people who share a love of sewing and craft. Supporting these groups helps keep the sewing and craft industry vibrant for the next generation.

We’d also love to give a big shout-out to some of our wonderful crafty friends:

These small businesses are doing beautiful work in the craft community, and we’re always so happy to see them at shows.

Thank you to everyone who came to say hello at Craft Alive Toowoomba — we loved meeting you all and can’t wait for the next show!
