Bringing Ideas Together

Last Saturday was a fabulous day! Spending time at the 150 of Liberty Showcase was amazing!Catching up with the local sewing community was just outstanding. Old students, friends, other small businesses, pattern designers and those who travelled to exhibit.
So here is a rundown of my Japanese Hello Kitty Outfit....
- The fabric was from my stash - it is imported from Japan.
- The two worlds meet through official collaborations between Liberty and Sanrio, where classic Liberty prints are combined with Sanrio characters — especially Hello Kitty — for fabric collections and merchandise. The fabric is hard to find, but we have some amazing limited fabric packs coming soon!
The top is a pattern from Etsy. Mae Peplum Top from Tianas Closet - it was an easy make and suited the style of what I was trying to create.
- New Wilshire Shadow (the pink fabric is now a new release in Australia
- I really didn't want any of this fabric to go to waste, and featuring the selvages was something new for me.... but I adore how they turned out x
- I also used piping for the High Tops - using the flip and turn method and sandwiching the handmade piping between the layers.
- The leather trims on the back tab and side are from Parker Leather - they have some amazing packs that you can purchase online for those little extras.
- The shoelaces are some that are in the Studio Stash - I really think they make the shoes!
We have more amazing outfits to come! Are you inspired?
