Hi, I’m Leesa — a lifelong maker, business builder, and creative soul with fabric running through my veins. I grew up in a wonderfully hippy, crafty family where creativity was a way of life. We were market kids and my Mum was one of the first handmade soap makers in Australia.

With a background in business development, retail management, and running my own sewing ventures, I’ve spent decades weaving creativity with commerce. I launched one of Australia’s first-ever subscription boxes — Sew Boxes — which soared to incredible heights. Sewing Adventures was born soon after — a beloved learn-to-sew studio in Brisbane, where I had the joy of teaching thousands of kids and adults how to sew, alongside some amazing contract teachers. It was a space filled with inspiration, laughter, and a love of making.

2024 brought deep personal loss, with both my parents passing away, and soon after, the sale of the building that housed our studio. It was time for a reset. Then... for a reason quilted sneakers entered my world. It was love at first stitch! Fabric, colour, comfort, and creativity all rolled into one.

My obsession took over, and Sneaker Stitch was born. For the past six months, I’ve poured everything into creating the ultimate DIY sneaker kits — complete with high-quality tools, step-by-step guides, all designed around Aussie products. sensibilities and kits that make it all easy! Because if you know me, you know I never do things by halves.
